The Tango Argentino Basics in Vienna are an invitation to start your tango journey with solid foundations, clarity, and trust in your process. And to gain more depth and freedom if you already dance.
Join to explore and train the essentials of Tango Argentino from a mindful, embodied approach. Focusing not only on what to do, but on how and why we move the way we do in this dance.
The Tango Basics lessons are ideal for you if:
You’re a complete beginner in Tango Argentino
You’re returning to tango and want to rebuild the foundations of your dance
You’re looking for a thoughtful, body-aware approach to Tango Argentino within a friendly community
You appreciate a safe space for questions, mistakes, and exploration
You’ll learn:
✨ Fundamental posture and body organization
✨ Tango walking, connection, and basic navigation on the dance floor
✨ How to move with another person comfortably and clearly
✨ The foundations needed to start social dancing, and building confidence in your movement
No previous experience required, just curiosity to work with essential principles that allow you to understand the Tango Argentino language sooner, and adapt easier to real social dance situations.
If you are an improver, revisiting the basics helps you to:
✨ Focus on elements you might have overlooked when learning everything for the first time
✨ Refine technique and efficiency of your movements
✨ Clarify concepts you may already “know” but not fully embody yet
✨ Expand improvisation, musicality, and partner dialogue
You can join with or without a dance partner, and learn the role(s) of your choice. Jessica encourages learning both.
A new weekly Tango Basics Course is opening its doors to help you build your tango skills from the ground up.
✨ Join us on Wednesdays at 19:00, starting on April 8, for a progressive Tango Basics Course designed for complete beginners and dancers who want to rebuild their foundations with clarity.
✨ Our Tango Basics sessions continue on Sundays at 19:00 (resuming on April 12 and continuing weekly, except during our Tango Immersion Weekends and on May 31 – calendar below).
What’s the difference?
On Wednesdays, you’ll follow a structured sequence of contents, developing the Tango essentials week by week together at a shared group pace.
The Sunday sessions aren’t a “beginner class” in the traditional sense. They are a mixed-level learning and training space where beginners build solid foundations from scratch and experienced dancers refine their basics.
Each class adapts to the group and uses layered exercises, so that everyone can progress from where they are.
What do they have in common?
Both focus on developing strong fundamentals and growing through them, rather than just checking them off the list.
Both encourage integration of what you learn in class through Focused Prácticas: guided practice sessions for you to socialize and ask questions, receive feedback, and practice in a relaxed and supportive environment. They aren’t a class, therefore you regulate your own practice pace and can leave earlier if your agenda requires it.
The Focused Prácticas take place after every Sunday Tango Basics session, once a month on Saturday during the Tango Immersion Weekends, and within the new Wednesday schedule they’ll take place every 3 classes (calendar below).
Does it make sense to attend both?
Absolutely. Tango is like learning a language: the more hours you dedicate to study, the faster you become fluent.
The new Tango Learning Pass supports you for this goal.
Please note that the session on Sunday May 5 is cancelled due to moving.

It's an anchor to your weekly Tango rhythm, designed for dancers who want to progress with continuity.
It helps you build a consistent weekly rhythm of learning, practice and social dancing, giving you access to our weekly classes (both Wednesday and Sunday) and Focused Prácticas.
No. We rotate partners during the class, which is an essential part of learning how to adapt and communicate in Tango Argentino.
No. The Tango Basics Course on Wednesdays will take you through a structured program to learn from zero.
If you prefer a more flexible format, the Sunday Tango Basics is also open to new beginners. On each session, the contents are adapted to the participants level.
Our tango journey is designed to help you work on your dance skills through different layers at a time, and the Tango Learning Pass supports you on that goal.
The Tango Basics help you keep your fundamentals sharp, and fixing any root issues if you already know the basics but some things don't always work.
Grow your Tango and the Tango Immersion Program offer mixed-level material that we'll always adjust to your level, so you can grow your dance sustainably.
If you're unsure, you can always reach out and I'll help you find the best fit. Or just start here and adjust as needed. The structure is designed to support different stages of learning and you'll always get guidance.
Tango Argentino isn't something you "finish" after X number of classes. It’s a practice you develop over time.
Anyone can learn Tango, each at their own pace.
Most dancers start feeling their progress after a few weeks and developing confidence in social dancing after a few months of consistent classes and practice.
Beginners that start from zero and attend regularly the Wednesday and Sunday Tango Basics classes and Focused Prácticas are usually ready to join the next level after 1-3 months.
Consistency helps, but flexibility is built into the system.
You can combine different classes and Prácticas to maintain your learning rhythm. Sessions typically include a brief recap of the previous one, and the Prácticas are the ideal space to catch up and make sure you learn the contents with proper guidance.
Yes, but always with context and purpose.
The goal is not to accumulate figures, but to understand how to use them in a way that works with different partners and music.
Instead of focusing on memorizing sequences, we work on the principles that make your dance functional: body awareness, embodied understanding, musicality, and improvisation — skills that support social dancing, connection and personal expression rather than memorized material. Therefore you might not notice how many steps you're learning if you don't keep track. You'll get guidance on how to do the homework 😉
Your membership is billed on a calendar-month basis (e.g. April, May, June...) and you can opt for SEPA Direct Debits for your convenience.
Your monthly rate is secured when you join. As long as your subscription remains active, you keep that price — even if prices change in the future.
If you interrupt your subscription, you can rejoin anytime at the current rate.
Your learning rhythm is meant to support your life, not add pressure. You can pause your Tango Learning Pass when needed (giving notice before day 1 of the following month) and rejoin anytime. And private lessons are always an option to catch up if life happens.
Everyone can learn tango, each at their own speed.
How soon you'd like to feel comfortable in your body and with your dance is your parameter to decide how much it is worth committing for you.
Tango is like learning a language: the more often and regularly you study and practice, the fastest you become fluent.
I support you with several sessions of guided practice, more than 2 classes per week, and a Tango Learning Pass that gives you easy and affordable access to all of them. A welcoming community that values depth, exploration and collective growth supports you as well.
This isn’t just a class schedule. It’s a full learning ecosystem that helps you get on the dance floor sooner than later. You're welcome to drop in if you have no hurry. Tango starts making sense with continuity.
No. Dance shoes or special clothes aren't required. Nevertheless, some shoes support your body's health better when dancing Tango. Find some guidance here, and reach out to me for recommendations if you're considering buying dance shoes.
They are practice sessions where we give your body time to repeat, explore, absorb and transform what you learn in class, allowing you to really own every move and saving you time in the long run. You can see them as a training lab that supports your Tango learning.
They play a crucial role in how the work matures over time, since repetition builds body memory and guidance makes sure you're repeating the right thing. They also help you integrate in our dance community and ensure group coherence week to week, since those who miss a class can use the Focused Práctica to catch up, and those who only attend the Tango Immersion Weekends can stay attuned.
They're an open space for mindful practice, where dancers from the worldwide Tango community are welcome to join regardless of where they learn, so you also get to interact and practice with different people beyond classmates.
Consistency matters more than intensity.
Dancers who combine weekly classes, guided practice and social dancing tend to progress faster and feel more confident. The Tango Learning Pass supports you on this. Some combine the group setting with private lessons to speed up their process even more, benefiting from professional personalized feedback.
